Hi, my name is Nika and I’m not sure if this will help us, but it’s worth a try. So here’s our story: Myles is a Shih Tzu terrier mix, 9 years old, and a special part of our family. He’s been a part of our life since he was 8 weeks old. He’s had a great life, born and raised in CT. He traveled to Puerto Rico for a family trip once, and well, it’s been the most amazing years with him at our side. My children adore and love him. All of the grandmas say he’s their fur grandbaby.
Over these past years, he has had his vet and has been up to date on his shots with routine visits, but we have hit a hardship since recently relocating to another state. Unfortunately, because of this, we can’t afford his bills now. Yes, he eats and normal maintenance like grooming, luckily we have a good support system here.
So the story is, Myles started peeing blood two days ago, whining and not sleeping. Almost a complete loss of appetite. So I took him to the animal hospital, and they were so kind. They did what they could to help lower the bill for us to get the services he needs, but they are too much. I mean, you can’t put a price on your pets, but we financially can’t afford to pay this. We were told he has a large mass/tumor in his bladder, and to know the extent of it, blood work and ultrasounds, then surgery, we need to pay these amounts.
We have applied for many insurances for pets and been denied over and over, so I’m on here trying to see if anyone can donate something to help us help him and give him some more years of quality life. Thank you for listening and taking your time to read this.
