On a morning that started like any other, we woke up to something no parent should ever have to see, our 9-month-old daughter’s diaper was full of blood. Within hours, she was rushed into emergency surgery and diagnosed with intussusception, a rare and serious condition where part of the intestine slides into itself, causing a dangerous blockage.
Thanks to the fast action of doctors and nurses, our baby girl pulled through surgery and today, she’s healing and smiling again. But as we breathe a sigh of relief, the financial burden is just beginning to hit us. Despite having health insurance through my job as a teacher, much of the cost is not being covered. The medical bills are starting to arrive and they’re quickly piling up.
As her first birthday approaches, a milestone we’re so grateful she’ll reach, we’re asking for help. In lieu of gifts, any contribution toward her medical debt would mean the world to our family. Your support would not only help us manage these unexpected expenses, but allow us to focus on what matters most: our daughter’s continued recovery and well-being.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for being part of her story.
With gratitude,
Nick & Jordan
