For those of you who don’t know us, hi! My name is Vada Wolf. I’m married to my wonderful husband, Kenneth Ray Wolf Jr. and together we have a 5 year old son named Walt. We live in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. My husband Kenny is a hard working husband and father, US Marine Corps veteran, and cancer survivor. He underwent treatments and surgery for esophageal cancer in 2023.
Unfortunately, on May 19, 2025 Kenny started exhibiting stroke-like symptoms at work. These episodes were later determined to be focal seizures. They found abnormalities on his brain scans and he spent half a month in Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina where they completed various diagnostic tests culminating in a brain biopsy surgery on June 1st. We have not received his pathology report yet, so we appreciate any and all thoughts and prayers as we are hoping for no repeated cancer!
Unfortunately, Kenny is out of work for at least another month as he recovers from his brain surgery and adjusts to new seizure medications. He requires supervision throughout the day as he now has daily seizures. He has used all of his leave from work now and we have exhausted savings trying to keep up. We are not the type to ask for help, but right now we need it more than ever to help us stay afloat. We were very grateful to get by through his cancer treatments in 2023 by moving in with family during that time. Any funds raised here will be used to pay our regular bills like our car payment, health insurance, copays and prescriptions, car insurance and gas, groceries, and other necessities. These expenses will really start to add up after June 20th.
