Dear Friends and Family of the Buchen Family,
As many of you may know, the Buchens have returned to the Philippines to be with Lydia during for a few months. Sadly, Renea has been extremely ill, hospitalized for five weeks due to a severe Lupus flare. Despite the doctors’ efforts, her pain remains difficult to manage. To complicate matters, Renea is scheduled for an esophagectomy tomorrow—a major and risky 8-hour surgery. Following the operation, she will need to stay in the ICU for up to a week and rely on a feeding tube for three weeks.
This situation is particularly difficult for the family, as Renea is deeply concerned about their well-being while she remains hospitalized. To help, they hope to hire a widow neighbor to cook meals for the family over the next few weeks. This arrangement is different from a typical meal train, as it involves direct support for both the cook and the family’s daily meals.
The estimated cost is $20.00 per day. If you are able, please consider contributing to this modified meal train to support the Buchens during this critical time.
Thank you in advance for your care and generosity.
Sincerely,
Melody Lund
