Help Steve Dubell Heal After a Lifetime of Pain—and a Legacy of Service
After decades of pouring into others, Steve needs our help.
For more than 35 years, Steve Dubell has lived with intense, chronic pain—pain that began when he was rear-ended in a severe car accident, followed by three more crashes. Then came the unimaginable: Steve fell into a well, sustaining life-altering injuries that left him fully disabled.
Since then, he has endured 20 major surgeries—on his back, knees, neck, and shoulders. His body may be worn down, but his spirit? Unshakable.
Now, he faces another hurdle.
Steve recently underwent a procedure that has finally brought some relief from constant pain—his first real hope in years. But the treatment costs $17,000, and without payment, the pain management service will be shut off. That would send Steve backward, into unrelenting pain and even greater immobility.

A Life Lived in Quiet Service
Steve has been married to his beautiful wife Helain for 33 years. Together, they’ve raised a family rooted in faith, compassion, and love. To know Steve is to know someone who has always said “yes” to the needs of others.
Even while managing his own pain, Steve has faithfully served behind the scenes—calling, counseling, and praying with people in crisis. Together, Steve and Helain have walked beside people through:
• Suicidal despair
• Marital counseling
• Holiday outreach to families in need
• Foster care support in Harford County
• Thanksgiving and Christmas food and gift delivery
• Middle-of-the-night emergencies
They’ve done it all—not for recognition, but out of their love of Christ and His people.
As Mercy Missionaries, Steve and Helain provide spiritual care in hospitals, homes, and communities. Their entire mission is supported by donations and Steve’s modest disability income.

How You Can Help
We’re asking for help to raise $17,000 to cover the most recent surgery and preserve the pain treatment that has finally begun to help Steve heal.
Without it, he will regress—and face excruciating pain once again.
If we exceed that goal, any additional funds will go toward the couple’s ongoing support of ICOrphans.org—an organization dear to their hearts that serves vulnerable children and families. Their current goal is to raise $2,400/month to help sustain this vital outreach.

Why This Matters Now
Steve’s health struggles have deeply affected every part of his life. His children grew up knowing their dad couldn’t run or play with them. Many days, he couldn’t even get out of bed.
Now, with their first grandchild arriving in October, we want Steve to have the best chance at being present, mobile, and in far less pain.

Let’s Lift Up the Ones Who Have Lifted So Many
If Steve and Helain have ever encouraged you, prayed for you, shown up when no one else did—or if you simply believe in honoring those who have served selflessly—this is your moment to give back.
• Donate if you can
• Share if you’re able
• Pray if you’re willing
Together, we can help carry the burden for a man who has carried so many.
With deep gratitude,
Holly and Scott Fitzpatrick
