Shadow- our 9 month old outgoing, adventurous and playful german shepherd husky mix managed to injury himself over the weekend while playing outside on our property. He is our troubled four legged child. He’s constantly getting himself hurt minorly but this time he sliced open his groin area and injuried his right leg. Our vet was closed on Sunday and Shadow was hobbling around and eating still, just not being as active so we performed basic first aid to keep him as comfortable as possible until I could get him in with our vet because taking him to the emergency vet would of cost us way more than our regular vet would. I called first thing on Monday morning to get him seen. They didn’t have any appointments available so they asked for us to drop Shadow off so they could work him in the schedule. Two hours later, I receive a call from the vet stating Shadow had to undergo surgery to repair his injuries as it wouldn’t heal on its own. We couldn’t afford the surgery right now but told them to go ahead and do it anyway because it was an emergency and needed to be done and told them we would find a way to get the money at a later date. They allowed us to place a deposit and are giving us until Thursday to pay the remaining balance since we typically pay our balances in full whenever we bring our fur babies in but this was an unexpected event. They do accept CareCredit but I don’t qualify for it and Eric doesn’t have enough available on it because he uses it for his orthodontist.
We are not asking to donate to the fundraiser directly unless you want to but we do ask that if you can help in anyway to donate directly to our vet to help cover the cost of Shadow’s surgery even if it’s a dollar! There is more information below regarding details for our vet if you decide to donate. Please let them know you are calling to donate to Shadow’s surgery and the account name is under Destiny Skidmore. Thank you so much!
