Hi there! My name is Sawyer–but you might also know me as Lover Boy! I have finally started the journey to get top surgery, something I felt would be damn-near impossible as a transmasculine nonbinary person not on HRT, but I have been lucky enough to find a surgery center here in Kentucky that works with people like me. To make sure I can afford this surgery, I’m going to need some help…and that’s where you all come in.
I have my consultation in mid-July, and will hopefully have a surgery date before the end of 2025. This surgery is going to be life-changing for me. Recently, I have been experiencing an intense dysphoria that has rocked my world harder than it ever has before, leaving me in mental anguish more days than not. It has made my depression even worse, heightened my anxiety about being in public spaces, and stopped me from enjoying the things I love (including burlesque, which is one of my favorite forms of artistic expression). Being this close to a surgery date has given me the hope I need to continue on and be a happier, more authentic version of myself.
All the money raised will go directly towards surgery-related costs: the surgery itself, recovery, gas money to travel to Elizabethtown, and some wiggle-room money for when I’m out of work while recovering at home. You will be helping me change my life, and I cannot thank you enough for even considering being a part of my journey.
