Hello my name is Courtney , and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. My boy Chance is facing serious medical issues and needs surgery as soon as possible. Recently on 5/31/2025 out of no where he had a seizure at 11pm then he had another one the next day 6/1/2025 at 7:30am and another one at 12:30pm I then took him to the emergency room while waiting he had a focal seizure the staff then administered seizure meds and gave us some to take home. Unfortunately they wanted to do lots of tests that cost nearly 5k and I didn’t have the funds to cover that amount so I took him to his vet the next day. He hadn’t been eating or drinking and we weren’t sure if it was the new medicine he was on or if something else was wrong with him. At the vet it was noticed his gums were super pale and with the symptoms he was presenting the doctor had a feeling she knew what it was just need some test to confirm so they did blood work and a x-ray.
The bloodwork showed he’s anemic as well as some levels were high showing it might be cancer , the X-ray showed a large mass/tumor on his spleen which could indicate spleen cancer. She informed me that this is a ticking time bomb and it needs to be removed as soon as possible and at extra cost needs to be sent out to be tested for cancer. They did a ultrasound to make sure he’s a candidate for surgery and by the grace of god he is.
They aren’t sure if the mass is what’s causing the seizures but it needs to be taken out as soon as possible so it don’t rupture. I’m doing everything I can to save my boy he’s my big fur baby, my baby before babies and I love him with all my heart I wouldn’t know what I would do without him.
The surgery’s estimated cost alone is $1500+ and there’s extra cost to send it out for biopsy and not including follow-up care, medication, and post-surgery recovery supplies. I’m doing everything I can, but I can’t afford the full cost on my own.
