Early December, Sarah got a phone call we all dread in life, a cancer diagnosis. After a surgery in November to remove a 4cm prolapsed uterine fibroid, the doctor was concerned and sent out the fibroid for testing. The testing found the cancer inside the fibroid. Thankfully, it was caught early and hadn’t spread outside the uterus. However, an MRI showed that the tumor was invading the uterine muscle wall, and so a total hysterectomy had to be performed. 8 short weeks after that, it was 3 rounds of high dose radiation therapy.
