Asking help for my lifelong friend Renee Varecka (AKA Mary Sedia) to help her with funds. She has a very rare blood disease and severe eye loss. In August 2003, she was diagnosed with a rare and life-altering blood disease called Polycythemia Vera. She has been undergoing chemotherapy in preparation for a life-saving bone marrow transplant. She has had a recent setback after experiencing severe headaches. The doctor just discovered that her white blood cells had attacked her optic nerve, leading to the diagnosis of glaucoma, resulting in the loss of vision in her left eye. There’s only hope for partial vision. This complication has delayed her transplant and added to an already overwhelming journey. The bone marrow transplant will require a 30-day hospital stay followed by 30 days at home. As she prepares for this next step, she worries deeply about her two beloved dogs, Misty and Charm. They aren’t just her pets; they are her lifeline. Throughout this illness, Misty and Charm have been a constant source of love and emotional support. As she prepares for her next step, she will need to hire help to care for her dogs and manage her home and yard during recovery. With the mounting medical expenses and a loss of income, the responsibilities are becoming an unbearable financial burden. I’m asking the community to help rally around Renee. Every contribution matters, no matter the size, and will help cover the cost of in-home pet care and maintenance that she’ll need during her treatment and recovery. Your support will allow Renee to focus on her healing, knowing that her beloved companions and home are cared for.
