Our sweet boy Parker is our world. He’s living with a terminal, rare genetic disorder called Sanfilippo Syndrome Type A — often described as childhood Alzheimer’s. As the disease progresses, Parker has lost the ability to walk and now weighs over 80 lbs. He’s only going to get bigger, and it’s getting harder every day to lift him into his car seat or transport him safely.
We both work hard to provide for our family, but like many families today, we’re struggling with the rising cost of living. We’ve been told that our current van is too old and has too many miles to be converted into a wheelchair accessible vehicle. A newer, wheelchair-accessible van would allow us to safely take Parker to doctor’s appointments, therapy, and simply out to enjoy time as a family — things many take for granted.
Here’s how you can help:
We’re asking for help to either:
Raise enough to buy a wheelchair-accessible van outright
Or help reduce the cost so we can trade in and finance without taking on an impossible second car payment
If we are blessed with enough to purchase the van without trading in ours, we plan to donate our current vehicle to another family in need.
Every share, prayer, and donation — no matter how small — gets us closer to giving Parker a safer, more comfortable life.
Thank you for loving Parker and supporting our family through this journey.
With gratitude,
The Talbert Family
