Help Me Stay Afloat while facing Long Term Health & Financial Challenges
As many of you know — and some may not — I’ve been facing serious health challenges since developing Long COVID in 2022. Complications from that, followed by a failed back surgery in 2023, have led to additional pulmonary, cardiovascular, neurological, and neuromuscular issues which I see a variety of specialists for and that continue to impact my daily life. While you may see Z out living life to the fullest a couple of days a week, I’m on the couch in recovery mode as soon as we walk in the door resting for my next Dr. appointment and/or his next activity. A few hours out usually means a few days of rest, and I depend a lot on our friends and family getting us places as driving is especially hard on my body.
I’ve been officially out of work since January 2023. The state disability support I received through PEBA ended in January 2025, and I’m now in the long and difficult process of re-applying for federal disability benefits.
Over the past two years, I’ve stretched every resource I could — including tax refunds and small earnings as a brand ambassador — to stay afloat. But at this point, I’ve fallen significantly behind on my mortgage and other essential bills.
As someone who deeply values independence, it’s extremely hard for me to ask for help. But I’m at a point where I can’t do this alone anymore. I know many of my friends have asked along the way how you can help. Friends and family have taken me to appointments, helped with Zane and making sure he hasn’t / we haven’t missed out on things, brought us stuff we needed, etc. and I am forever grateful for all you’ve done! I never wanted to ask for financial help with bills but I’m at that point. Any amount you’re willing to contribute will go directly toward helping me keep my home and maintain stability while I continue to fight through this chapter of my life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, or donating. Every bit of support means more than I can express.
