Hello!
I’ve had a lot of financial hiccups this year but have managed to pull through them mostly on my own. After my near death in spring of 2023 because of a severely progressed abscess in my mouth, I tried to recover financially by moving to Michigan for a year. When I moved back in October I was able to quickly get on my feet and start saving, and kept up enough with everything to stay afloat.
I was let go from my job in February and have struggled to find well paying full time work again. Although I have managed, just barely, to stay up enough on my bills, I’m only one paycheck from falling totally behind.
I am supposed to move in August, and in the time between losing my job at the beginning March and now, I have completely wiped out my savings. I was hoping to rebuild that, but have had a few new medical emergencies that require immediate attention.
I was told today when I went to the dentist that I have a pretty severe infection, as well as three teeth that need to be extracted tomorrow morning. As soon as possible. Although I hope that I’ll heal quickly, I could be out of work for up to a week. In addition to this, my IBS symptoms are presenting in a way again that indicates I will need another full colonoscopy, amongst other things regarding my physical health that needs attention.
And even when I do back to work, currently, it is only part time. I am desperately looking for another job that is within my range of physical capabilities, as my arthritis has made it increasingly difficult to remain in any food service position.
I tried to keep this as brief as possible and wasn’t as detailed as I could be because I don’t want this to be a sob story, and it isn’t. I do always manage to pull through and figure it out somehow. That being said, it is crucial that I be given the space to rebuild my savings and attend to my immediate medical needs without the looming pressure of my housing and other safety being at risk.
