This is our neighbor, Nana Judy. Nana Judy is the person who would give anything off her back to make sure you were OK. Nana Judy is the type of person who would make sure that you had food before she did. She would starve herself to make sure you were OK first.
Nana Judy is currently going through lots of health problems, one of them being that she has clogged arteries in her neck, and they are close to 70%. On top of that, she needs to have all of her teeth removed at the top because they are badly infected, and they keep causing tooth infections. It’s so deep that they can’t even do a root canal, so she is gonna have to have them all removed. Despite her husband being in the National Guard for over 30 years and him passing and only receiving barely half of his pension and being on Medicare, she cannot afford to get her dentures because it is $30,000, as they do not cover dental healthcare. She’s currently having to take a mortgage out on her house at 85 years old in order to make sure that she doesn’t go septic from her teeth. Despite this being a medical thing, her insurance will not cover it. She’s gonna have to pay out-of-pocket.
Nana Judy has been there for me so many times. I have had so many surgeries due to my complications from Crohn’s and colitis, and I want to give back. I know that she continues to give back to her community and does everything she can for anybody and everybody. She is the type of person you would want to have as a neighbor, as a grandmother, as a mother, and as a friend. She has tirelessly survived so much in her life. One day she shall share her story, I am sure, but that’s not my part to share. Just know she has been through so much and deserves to be able to not have to worry about her own house and how she’s gonna get by.
Right now, there is so much going on in the world. There’s so much uncertainty with Medicare and Medicaid that it is scary to know whether or not she will even have health insurance at all here in a few short years. I want to be able to help her by setting up this fundraiser. All of the proceeds will go directly to her to help her be able to get dentures so then that way she does not go septic. She has been continuously getting tooth infections, and this is the best option for her to be able to not get sick. She already struggles with dementia on top of everything else, so her family and I have discussed this, and they are OK with me setting up this fundraiser with the proceeds 110% going to her.
As someone who doesn’t have much of a family, Nana Judy has opened up her heart to not only me but my children, my dogs, and my husband. She has become more than just a neighbor. She has become like a grandmother to me. And she would become a grandmother to you too if you needed a grandmother figure in your life. She’s somebody that everybody would just absolutely adore and love. I promise every single person would love her because she’s just so absolutely amazing. I hope that you would consider donating and sharing this post so then that way Nana Judy can avoid taking out a mortgage so then that way she doesn’t have to live paycheck to paycheck or above her means. She’s already struggling as it is living off of the little bit of income she has.
