HELP MY NEPHEW GET LIFE-CHANGING BACK SURGERY
HELLO EVERYONE
I’m reaching out to ask for your support on behalf of My Nephew Nathan, a hardworking and selfless
young man, who urgently needs Back Surgery.
In October 2023, Nathan was rear-ended while driving to work, the night shift at Amazon,
where he worked as an EMT and Safety Specialist.
The crash forced His car into the vehicle in front of him and totaled his car.
At First, He didn’t feel much pain – But within weeks, he began to experience sharp, shooting
pain in his groin and left leg, along with strange sensations in his abdomen.
After visiting his Primary Care Physician and undergoing tests, an X-rays revealed that
The Accident had caused Spinal Damage- Fractures and the Misalignment of his L5 Vertebrae
with compression on his nerve roots.
Over the next Six months, his condition worsened. The pain became Unbearable.
His left leg went Numb. He could no longer sit, stand or work for any Extended period of time.
His sleep and appetite suffered, and he lost significant muscle mass.
Despite seeing multiple back specialists and trying physician therapy and receiving pain-relieving
injections, nothing brought relief. Eventually, without further treatment options offered,
he had to take medical leave from work. Sadly, He lost both his jobs and health insurance as a result.
He used up all his savings just to try to stay afloat. While visiting a Friend in Europe recently, he was
able to consult with a Spinal Neurologist who reviewed his medical records.
The doctor warned him, without a fusion surgery he risked permanent nerve damage.
With no viable treatment options left in the U.S. , he’s made the difficult but necessary decsion
to pursue surgery aboard.
The good news, the cost of the surgery in the EU is a fraction of what it would be in the U.S.
The not-so-good news: It’s still out of reach without support.
We’re trying to raise $20,000 to help cover the cost of surgery, related medical care, and
basic recovery expenses. Thus procedure could give him relief from constant pain and a
chance to reclaim his life.
