Help me save Momma’s life

On Wednesday June 11th I found my sweet Momma unresponsive and not breathing in her bedroom. Once she was seen and evaluated they found that her kidney disease had progressed to kidney failure and she had congestive heart failure. When a heart cath was performed it was found she had major blockages in her heart. Due to her diabetes and kidney damage she needs open heart surgery.

My Momma is one of the most incredible friends a person could have. She’s my best friend and she has managed to make friends worldwide through her love of basset hounds. She loves her grandkids, her children, and of course my dad, the love of her life. She and my father have been together for 47 years. Now they both live on a fixed income. Momma’s insurance will pay up to 80% of the cost but when you consider 3 week minimum hospital stay, major surgery, several days on a ventilator, post surgery recovery and appointments, plus cardiac rehab we are talking tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket.

Add to that help with a baby sitter to allow me to switch out and let dad rest, any an all equipment needed for her to transition home, and just general things to help her feel more comfortable and we are past any point of savings making a difference.

I know expenses are tight for us all but after watching hundreds of you pray for her and offer support I’m hoping you could spend a little money to help me make sure she gets the best care possible because no one has a better heart than her.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
