My name is Leena, and I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart.
My sister Maryam, a 38-year-old mother of three that lives in Karachi, Pakistan. She is in a race against time to save what’s left of her vision. She has Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) — a rare, inherited eye disease that causes progressive vision loss, leading to tunnel vision and eventually total blindness.
Today, Maryam has lost 70% of her sight. She sees the world in fragments — blurry, dim, and distorted. And in low light or darkness, she is already completely blind. Her condition is deteriorating fast, and doctors have warned that she could lose her remaining vision entirely without immediate treatment.
Despite this, Maryam remains a symbol of strength and grace. She’s a loving mother to three beautiful children, a daughter that is 16, and two sons that are 12 and 9, and an artist who pours her soul onto the canvas, creating pieces that reflect how she sees the world slipping away.
Now, she needs our help — not just to keep painting, but to keep seeing her children grow.
Maryam’s Journey
Diagnosis: RP in her early 20s; rapid deterioration in the last five years.
Daily reality: Narrowing visual field, night blindness, difficulty telling colors apart, blurry vision, involuntary eye movement, and soon complete darkness.
Resilience: Maryam transforms her struggle into exhibitions that show the world “how I see.” While she contributes to our household through the sale of her art, her ability to earn is steadily declining as her vision fades.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Your support will help us complete a carefully planned treatment journey to save Maryam’s sight.
Phase 1 –
Maryam will begin with a 10-day regenerative therapy program, including imaging and a 3-month supply of medication.
Phase 2 – Wellspring Clinic for holistic medicine Vancouver, CA
We’ll visit Vancouver for follow-up treatment, medication renewal, and vision therapy until the procedure is complete.
Travel & Stay
Covers flights, visas, basic lodging, food, and transport for multiple trips.
Total Goal: $60,000 USD
