I’m Martin, a father of three beautiful children that recently went through a life-changing event.
I was admitted into Intensive Care (ICU) I had a stroke that affected my left side of my body. The hemorrhage I suffered on the right side of my brain caused a stroke. On the way to the hospital, I was terrified that I would not live to see my children grow up, play in the high school band or high school basketball games, graduate high school.
A team of doctors and staff rushed me into the ER as I started experiencing paralysis in my face, slurring in my speech, paralysis of my left side of my upper and lower extremities. I thank God for staying with me every step of the way.
I have lived my life by the belief that you should always give a helping hand to others. I have helped family, friends, and strangers in their time of need. I am the first to help when a driver is stranded at a stoplight or road by pushing or towing the car to a safe place or their home. I helped a senior citizen unlock her van after leaving her keys locked inside. Although I am offered money for these good deeds, I do not accept it. Helping someone in their time of need is payment enough for me.
I appreciate any help that you can provide. I am currently unemployed and do not have health insurance. The medical bills continue to arrive in the mail with costs exceeding $27,000.00 I fear my debt is affecting my health. Once I reach my goal and recover from my stroke. I will pay it forward to someone else in need.
