Help Lincoln Fight Muscular Dystrophy

Lincoln’s Story: A Brave Boy Facing a Rare Disease

A Diagnosis That Changed Everything

In May of 2025, our family’s world was forever changed. My 9-year-old nephew, Lincoln, was diagnosed with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, type R4 (LGMDR4) — a rare genetic disorder that slowly breaks down the muscles in the hips and shoulders, known as the “limb girdles.”

LGMDR4 is caused by mutations in the SGCB gene, which prevents muscles from producing a critical protein that helps them stay strong and heal. Over time, Lincoln will experience increasing weakness, especially in his legs and upper body. Sadly, most children with this condition require an electric wheelchair between the ages of 12 and 16. While there is currently no cure, treatment can help manage symptoms and delay progression.

Meet Lincoln

Lincoln is a smart, joyful, and creative 9-year-old from Woodburn, Oregon. He loves building epic LEGO creations, learning about dinosaurs, playing outside with his younger sister, and snuggling up with his sweet dog after a long day. He has the kind of imagination and resilience that inspires everyone around him.

Despite this difficult diagnosis, Lincoln continues to face life with courage and wonder. But the journey ahead will not be easy.

How You Can Help

Lincoln’s parents are working closely with specialists at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to do everything they can to slow the disease and protect his quality of life. This means ongoing testing, physical therapy, and eventually, adaptive technology and home modifications.

We are asking for help to raise funds that will go directly toward:

• Ongoing medical bills and therapies

• Travel costs for appointments and specialized care

• A future Power wheelchair and mobility aids

• Home and vehicle modifications to keep Lincoln safe and independent

Every donation, every share, and every act of support makes a difference. Our goal is to give Lincoln the longest, fullest, and happiest life possible — with the strength of a community behind him.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Lincoln and our family in this fight.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
