Hello! I am Kai and I am a nonbinary trans man living in Colorado. I have been transitioning over the past three and a half years and am finally trying to to tackle the next step of my transition: Top Surgery!
A little about me: I am the manager of an independent bookstore and an active member of my community. I serve as a board member of our local pride organization and have, for the past several months, been leading a series of trans education workshops to try and increase awareness and active allyship in our community. I also own and operate a small art business, creating prints, stickers, pins, and clothing. All profits from that business are going to go towards this fund as well. Binding is getting harder and harder on me, both emotionally and physically, and I genuinely feel like not having top surgery is keeping me back from living the rest of my life. I am fortunately insured, and plan to cover as much as I can on my own, but need help meeting my deductible and covering my recovery and travel expenses.
Top Surgery will be literally life changing and I can’t wait to step into this next phase of my life, not feeling like I have to hate what I see in the mirror. And the bucket of “post-op” tshirts I have to wear call to me.
