I need your help in this very difficult time of my life for my son’s life. I’m not one for asking for help, but I have no choice because it’s for my son. My son’s name is Jose and he is only 43 years old. He has three beautiful daughters. Their ages are 11, 12, and 22.
My son is very sick with a severe heart condition. He had a stroke about a month ago and his heart is only working at 29%. The stroke caused Jose a brain bleed that has affected his eyesight and is getting worse. After doing an echocardiogram, the doctor found a hole in his heart. The cardiologist needs to consult with another heart specialist to see if they can repair the hole in his heart. But his heart is so weak that he might not be able to do the surgery. For now, he will have to wear a vest just in case he has a heart attack. And I don’t know if any other surgeries will be coming up. I’m so scared that I will lose my son at just a young age with so much life to live. It hurts me to know that he might go before me. I hope with God’s help, he gets through this.
He was working as an Uber food delivery man, but he cannot see, so he cannot do it anymore. He will be living with me so I can take care of him. I unfortunately have a very small apartment, but I hope to get a 2-bedroom apartment so he can have his own room. Because he has no income, I buy him food weekly, which you know is so expensive. I will be paying for his medications, which adds up to $400 a month. And I don’t yet know how much his medical bills will add up to. He has applied for Medicaid. Actually, the hospital rep helped him out applying for Medicaid, and I hope he gets it. I’m applying for SNAP and Social Security Disability, but all this will take time to get. I, like everyone nowadays, am on a limited income.
