Hello, my name is Lana Boyles. As most of you know, I am John Boyles’ daughter. About 2 years ago, my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. It came as a shock but wasn’t unexpected as he has worked as a welder for almost 50 years. I am happy to report that his cancer has stopped spreading, is small and inactive per his most recent PET scan.
Hard worker, loyal friend, amazing dad, wonderful grandpa, and best great-grandpa are just a few words to describe my dad. Even while battling cancer, my dad kept his full-time job, only taking off for doctor’s appointments, chemo treatments, and radiation treatments. In his almost 69 years of life, he has always been quick to help anyone in need and rarely asks for help. Recently, my dad had to fully retire from the work he’s loved so much due to this awful disease.
He is still fighting this disease as he is not in remission and still must receive maintenance chemo to keep the cancer inactive. Unfortunately at this point, the treatment, and retirement has taken a financial toll on my parents. He needs help. Today, on my dad’s behalf, I am kindly asking you to donate whatever you can to help my dad. No amount is too small to help this amazing man with this huge fight. He will continue to fight this horrible disease until the day he can finally ring that bell, and be declared Cancer Free!
Thank you!
