Help Jett Fight Childhood Liver Cancer
I’m starting this fundraiser for my best friend Dominique and her
4-year-old son, Jett. On April 15th, Jett was diagnosed with
hepatoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of liver cancer. A biopsy confirmed that the cancer has spread through 3 of the 4 lobes of his liver. He’s undergone 6 weeks of intense chemotherapy, but scans on June 2nd showed that the tumor has not responded as hoped.
Doctors have determined that further chemo is unlikely to shrink the tumor enough for safe removal—meaning Jett will need a full liver transplant in the near future. Because only a handful of hospitals can perform this type of pediatric transplant, Jett and his family will likely have to travel long distances to get Jett the lifesaving care he needs.
The family has already spent hundreds traveling weekly to Kansas City for treatment—on gas, food, and hotel stays. This fundraiser will help ease the heavy financial burden of what’s ahead: continued travel, transplant-related expenses, and the unknowns that come with caring for a critically ill child.
Any donation, big or small, means the world to this family. If you can’t give, please share. Let’s rally around Jett and his family in this fight.
