Hello, my name is Jessica Bashaw. I am trying to get a rental car so I can go visit my dad who is dying in a hospital in Illinois. I currently live in Reno, Nevada. The rental car would cost $600 for 5 days ($400 for car and $200 for deposit)of travel and about $1000 in gas ($80 to fill the tank about 6 times each way) and a small amount for food while I drive there and back. I will be sleeping in the car while visiting my dad and doing all of the paperwork that needs to be done for his end-of-life care. My dad’s liver and kidneys are shutting down and he has contracted AIDS, which is not helping his immune system. He is being kept on a breathing tube as he cannot breathe on his own at this moment in time. His doctors have advised me to come say goodbye to my dad as they do not know how long he has. I am trying to raise this money as I have tried every way possible to get it on my own, from credit cards to loans and asking family, but I have been denied for everything and my family all live paycheck to paycheck. Please, if you can find it in your heart to help me say goodbye to my dad, I would be eternally grateful for any donations made! If I am unable to get there before he passes, any money donated will go to covering hospital costs and funeral services.
