We are Shyree & Fred, parent’s of Jeremiyah, a 16-year-old student in Florida who has played basketball since he was 9 years old. I am raising money to help with medical and financial needs associated with an open-heart surgery he has to have due to recently being diagnosed with AAORCA.
Jeremiyah was playing at a tournament in Tennessee with is AAU Team, FEA on May 3rd 2025. Within the first 5 minutes of the game, Jeremiyah collapsed on the floor. In Jeremiyah’s words….He felt like he was having an outer body experience where things around him didn’t seem right. He continued to try and play but after bending over and looking at his father on the side lines…..a few moments later he was on the ground.
The next several days were filled with anxiety as we sought to understand what was going on with him. In the hospital, he had elevated troponin in his bloodwork which was a sign of cardiac duress. We soon found out the cause. Jeremiyah was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease, Anomalous Origin of Right Coronary Artery.
J was immediately sidelined and told the only way to bring him back on the court was through open heart surgery. This has been a lot for us to help him through emotionally, mentally and soon, physically.
We will need to travel from Florida to Philadelphia, where Jeremiyah is set to have surgery on June 16th, 2025. We are asking for a little help as we have to pay for travel expenses relating to our 3 week stay in Philadelphia. Any little bit helps and as a family, we are truly appreciative of anything that can be given.
