Help Me Get Bariatric Surgery and a Second Chance at Life
Hi, my name is Jenniffier. I’m 20 years old, 5’6, and currently weigh 317 lbs. I’m writing this with hope in my heart — hope that I can finally get the help I need to take control of my health and my future.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with my weight. I’ve tried so many diets, plans, and programs. Every time I’ve lost a little, I’ve gained back more. I don’t say this out of laziness or lack of willpower — I say it because living with obesity is complex, painful, and heartbreaking. I wake up every day fighting to feel good in my body, and most days I feel trapped in it. I want to be active. I want to feel confident. I want to experience life without being held back by my weight.
Bariatric surgery isn’t an “easy way out.” It’s a medical tool that could finally give me the chance to succeed where other efforts have failed. After lots of research and speaking to others who have gone through it, I believe this surgery could save my life. But unfortunately, I can’t afford it on my own. Insurance won’t cover the cost, and the price for the procedure, pre-op care, and post-op support is overwhelming.
That’s why I’m asking for help. I’m asking for kindness. I’m asking for a chance. Any donation — big or small — would bring me closer to a healthier, happier life. Even sharing my story would mean the world to me.
I dream of being able to move without pain, to have the energy to live fully, and to feel proud of the person I see in the mirror. I believe this surgery could help me achieve that. If you’ve ever felt hopeless and wished for someone to extend a hand, you know what this means to me.
My goal is to raise $20,000 to cover the surgery itself, necessary medical evaluations, and aftercare to ensure I can recover safely and succeed in this journey. Where the $20,000 will go:
Surgery cost: $14,000 – $18,000
This covers the hospital, surgeon, anesthesia, and the actual procedure (likely a gastric sleeve or gastric bypass — I’m still working with doctors to finalize what’s safest for me).
Pre-surgery evaluations: $1,000 – $1,500
These include required appointments with a nutritionist, a mental health evaluation, bloodwork, and other tests to make sure I’m healthy enough for surgery.
Post-surgery care: $1,000 – $1,500
Follow-up visits, vitamins, lab work, and support during recovery.
