Help Harley Get a Life-Changing Brace

Harley has a very severe case of scoliosis, and the doctors worry about her spine crushing her heart if it gets too bad. Her paternal grandmother passed from this same complication when her dad was young, so unfortunately, she never got to meet Harley. Harley’s brace isn’t doing the best job it could, so we are trying to get her a better one, which also comes with better treatment as well. Unfortunately, we cannot use insurance for her brace; they won’t cover it. They only cover the type she has already, but it’s not pushing on the right spots. She is only 9 years old, and they are talking full spinal fusion by Christmas to next summer unless she has greater improvement, which this brace will do. She still has great flexibility in her spine, so we still have this option. She is my only baby I got to carry myself. She has older half-sisters, but it’s hard for me to even get pregnant, so she was a miracle baby, and she is a light in everyone’s life when she meets them. I’m trying to hold off major surgery as long as I can, as any mother would want. I want her to have as much of a normal life as possible. After spinal fusion, she won’t be any taller, and she won’t be able to bend over normally or pick up much after. We wouldn’t normally ask for help from anyone, but we hit a financial rut around the same time we found out about her back, and it’s progressing so fast that we don’t have time to catch up. This will cover her new brace and some treatment as well. Her first appointment for her fitting was $300 that insurance doesn’t cover.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
