Hi, I am Ben and I’m reaching out on behalf of my incredible son, Gryffin. He’s a bright, kind-hearted kid who needs a lot more than just a little dental work.
Gryffin has a rare dental condition where multiple excess teeth are pushing through the front of his gums. These extra teeth are not only painful, but they’re threatening to damage his permanent front teeth if they’re not removed soon. He needs extensive oral surgery to correct the issue before it causes permanent damage. But that’s just the beginning.
After surgery, Gryffin will need intensive reconstructive orthodontia to align his teeth and restore function to his smile. This won’t just affect his appearance, it will also impact how he eats, how he speaks, and how he feels about himself. Because of the nature of the surgery and how his mouth will be restructured, he’ll also need ongoing speech therapy to relearn certain sounds and address existing speech challenges.
We’re doing everything we can to give Gryffin the care he needs, but we can’t do it alone.
Medical insurance will only cover part of the costs and only after we meet a high deductible. Here’s what we’re facing:
$7,250 insurance deductible
$5,830 for non-covered orthodontia
Plus additional out-of-pocket costs for speech therapy and recovery expenses
In total, we’re trying to raise $14,550 to cover the critical treatments that will allow G-man to speak clearly, smile confidently, and live without pain.
Our family has already been stretched to the limit. We’ve taken on loans over the past few years to cover medical costs for our children and ourselves. Most recently, my wife Jessica was diagnosed with melanoma and underwent surgery, an emotional and financial blow that we’re still recovering from. With bills piling up, it’s becoming harder to keep our heads above water.
Gryffin deserves a healthy future, free from pain, embarrassment, or complications caused by something out of his control. He’s brave, funny, and endlessly resilient, and he has a whole life ahead of him to smile, laugh, and thrive.
