Our dear friend and community pillar, Gaia Pine, has been navigating the challenging impacts of long Covid for the past 1.5 years. Despite trying a wide range of treatments here in the U.S., she has yet to find lasting relief. The few therapies that have provided some improvement—like HBOT and acupuncture—have been costly and only offer limited, temporary benefits. After thoughtful research and consideration, Gaia is preparing to travel to Europe to pursue a promising medical approach that isn’t currently accessible in the U.S. She and her mother are planning to use their retirement savings to make this possible—but we would love to come together as a community to support them however we can. This fundraiser will help cover medical care, travel, and essential recovery expenses—and most importantly, offer Gaia a real chance to get back to doing the things she loves and living fully again.
Gaia is a passionate educator, someone who has poured her energy and heart into supporting youth and fellow educators—even while struggling with her health. But long Covid has made even the simplest daily tasks exhausting. She’s been operating in survival mode, carefully rationing her energy just to get by. With your support, we want to help Gaia move beyond just managing symptoms—and back into the life she deeply loves: hiking in the woods, kayaking on the water, roller skating with joy, engaging fully in the classroom, and enjoying the ease of everyday life again. She deserves more than survival—she deserves to thrive. If you’re able, please donate to help Gaia access the care she needs and step back into a life of vitality, movement, and connection. Every contribution helps—thank you for being part of this healing journey.
