My neighbor has struggled for many years with his knees. Then, a few months ago, he had a stroke, and now he can barely stand, much less walk. His insurance paid for him a lift chair, but he’s so weak he can’t even stand using it. He falls a lot, and he’s a big man; he’s about 6’ 7” and weighs around 300 lbs. I’m 5’ 7” and weigh around 160. His wife is also petite, so helping him up is almost impossible.
I’m wanting to get him a mobile patient lift so we can help him move around a little or at least help him up if he falls. Right now, if he falls, paramedics have to come get him up, and sometimes he has to wait for hours. His insurance won’t help because they got him the lift chair. I have found a few good used ones on eBay for around $800 to $1000, so I’m asking for help of $600, and I’ll pay the rest. Or, if you have a good one to donate or sell, that would be great. I’m just trying to take some stress off Paul and his wife and also myself. I have a broken wrist at the moment, and I hurt it again a couple of days ago helping him back in his chair. Please help me make his and especially his wife’s life a little less stressful. Thank you and God Bless.
