Hi! Most of you know me to some degree, but I’m Dorian and I’m getting gender affirming surgery this fall! This is a big endeavor and will have me and my partner out of work for a bit, I will be out for six weeks at a reduced salary and Diana will be out for two weeks completely without pay. Because of this we’re asking our friends, family and found community for some extra help!
Our main goal is to make sure we can cover our rent and expenses at home since we’re going to be out of state in DC for two weeks while I initially recover.
As a rough breakdown of what we’re hoping and asking for is as follows:
$1500 will handle *all* of our at home bills for the time we’re gone including rent and utility.
If anything is reached past that we’re hoping for $250 to take care of travel and to make our 12 hour car ride home into a two day trip, letting us take a break halfway through and an extra stay in a hotel room.
The last $250 is ideally an emergency fund for anything else. Medical complications, surprise copays, extra stay if anything goes wrong and just an extra cushion.
