Don is a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loves God. He has always been a helpful and kind shoulder to lean on, who puts God and his family first.
As of Memorial Day, 2025, Don was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The cancer has spread to his brain, spine, and adrenal glands, causing intense back pain and loss of motor function on his right side. He then had to make the hard decision to retire from his job of 31 years at Ready Mix Concrete to put his health first. This, however, has not dulled his hopeful spirit.
So far, he has undergone a lengthy procedure known as Gamma Knife Radiation, which targeted the tumors that have spread to his brain. On Friday, June 6th, he will be undergoing a lengthy 4-hour brain surgery to remove the large tumor that has planted itself on his left cerebral cortex. The road to recovery will be long, as we continue to target new areas of the body to mitigate the spread through chemotherapy and radiation.
During this time, we are asking for support in any areas to ease the burden so Don can spend time with his family and work towards a retirement he can look forward to.
