Hi, my name is Derek Singleton, and I’m humbly reaching out for your support.
Over the past few years, my mobility and quality of life have steadily declined due to severe arthritis and damage in my right hip. Simple tasks like walking, climbing stairs, or even getting out of bed have become incredibly painful. After countless doctor visits, physical therapy, and trying every non-surgical option available, my doctors have confirmed that a total hip replacement is the only path forward to regain my mobility and relieve the constant pain.
This wasn’t an easy decision—physically, emotionally, or financially.
Unfortunately, due to gaps in my health insurance coverage and the high cost of the procedure, I’m unable to cover the full expense on my own. The total cost, including the surgery, hospital stay, and necessary post-operative rehab, is well beyond what I can afford. I’ve already exhausted savings and explored every avenue for assistance, but I’m still falling short.
That’s why I’m turning to fundraiser—something I never imagined doing, but I believe in the kindness of people and the power of community.
I’m asking for help so I can get back on my feet—literally. Every dollar will go directly toward the surgery, medication, and physical therapy that I need to walk again without pain. My goal isn’t just to be pain-free, but to be able to return to work, stay active, and fully participate in life again.
If you can contribute, no matter how small, I’m deeply grateful. And if you can’t give, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would mean the world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for being part of this journey. Your support gives me hope, and I can’t wait for the day I can walk again—thanks to you.
With gratitude,
Derek Singleton
