We (my husband and I) got the surprise of or lives when I opened an Email from Florida Cancer Specialist, and there was a bill for $6,305.00.
Let me explain why we were totally surprised, I contacted my health insurance company Humana, and they told me that I only had to pay the co-pay of $195.00, I even confirmed with them that there were no additional charges. Just because I didn’t ask specifically about any drug charges, there was no mention of me being responsible for %20 of the drug charges, hence the $6,305.00 bill. So we are opening a fundraiser account which we would ask you to donate to, below is my story as to why I need your help.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1985, for the past few years I’ve been treated every 6 months with a medication called Ocrevus. Up until Jan of this year I had Medicaid which paid the entire bill, but because we are saving for a move to Arkansas this time next year, and have a small CD, I’m no longer eligible for Medicaid.
I have been treated with many different medications over the years; and none has ever been as effective as the Ocrevus treatments, it has prevented any progression of my disease. This medication has repressed my symptoms by about %95. And it gives me the ability to be able to volunteer 50 hours a month in my ministry work.
We are currently paying $50 per month, which could exclude me from getting any further treatments, because we can’t afford yet another treatment in Sept of this year. So we are asking for two things, one we are asking for money to pay for the treatment in March, and we need the funds for future treatments of Ocrevus.
The amount of the donation does not matter, as we have complete faith in Matt 6:33. We know beyond a doubt that our God Jehovah will provide everything we need.
