My name is Damon and I’m a 15-year-old boy who just recently got a new puppy. I’ve struggled with my mental health for years and have had many severe instances where I had to be hospitalized. It’s really debilitating and no amounts of medication, residentials, and therapists have helped. Recently I’ve been looking into making my new puppy my psychiatric service dog. My parents have refused to help pay for training since we don’t have enough money and I’m too young to get hired for most jobs since the age requirement is 16. I’m doing my best to self-train him, but I can only do so much, and I really think at least a little professional help would really be beneficial and help Nikolai through the process of becoming a service dog. He’s an incredibly smart dog and has a lot of potential to be an amazing service dog and I just want for him to get proper guidance. It would help me so much if he could be my service dog since getting a pre-trained dog or training only by professionals can cost 20,000. Training him to help me is really my only chance at having a significant improvement at my life quality and making my everyday life bearable.
