Charlie was in a terrible car wreck on June 6 and air-lifted to University Hospital in Jackson. He was intubated due to his blood pressure dropping and shallow breathing. He was then placed in a medically induced coma.
He was listed in critical condition and admitted to the ICU unit. He has several broken ribs and his sternum is crushed in 2-3 places. We are waiting to hear from the trauma team to see if they will place a steel plate in his chest. His was weaned from the vent and is breathing on his own now. He is in a great deal of pain, but that is to be expected. We can deal with pain versus what we could have been faced with. From what I hear about the wreck and condition of his vehicle, it is a miracle he is with us! Their only means of transportation is now a total loss.
Money received will go towards his rehabilitation and living expenses. Even though you are in the ICU in critical condition, mortgage payments and bills still come. We are being told that his recovery time will be up to 6 months. No guitar playing or lifting of any sorts.
Please keep the prayers coming! Over the next few weeks as he adjusts to his new norm will be a hard adjustment for him.
Psalm 34:17-18
“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
