Hi, my name is Kim, and I’m the mom of a beautiful, bright 7-year-old girl named Aria. Aria has epilepsy — a diagnosis that started with brief, quiet moments called absence seizures where she would suddenly “zone out” mid-sentence. At first, they were easy to miss. But now, things have changed.
Recently, Aria has had two terrifying grand mal (tonic-clonic) seizures — both of which occurred at our local park.
As her parents, we are doing everything we can, but the fear is overwhelming. One of the most devastating risks with epilepsy is SUDEP — Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. It’s a risk that is highest at night, when seizures can go unnoticed.

Why We Need Your Help
We are trying to get Aria a SAMi seizure monitor — a special device that can alert us when Aria is having a seizure in her sleep. It uses a camera and motion detection to notify us in real time, so we can get to her quickly and potentially save her life.
This device is widely used by epilepsy families, but it’s not covered by insurance. It costs several hundred dollars, and right now, with everything going on, we simply can’t afford it on our own.

What We’re Raising Money For
We’re asking for help to raise $1,300, which would cover:
• The SAMi3 seizure monitoring system
• A compatible iPad to run the alert software
• Mounting gear and setup accessories
• Shipping, tax, and protection plan
⸻
Why It Matters
Aria is smart, funny, and full of life. She loves dancing, singing, and making people laugh. She’s already been so brave. But as her seizures change and become more dangerous, we need extra support to keep her safe — especially while she sleeps.
No parent should have to lie awake every night wondering if their child will be okay until morning.

Please Help If You Can
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to peace of mind and to protecting Aria’s future. If you’re not able to give right now, please share her story with someone who might be able to help.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
With love,
Kim, Luc, Lucy, Eliza and our Aria
