Hello,
My name is Nekia Davis-Walker, I am creating a fundraiser campaign for my God-Sister, An’Tavia Washington. On Thursday, May 15, 2025, An’Tavia’s whole world was turned upside down. An’Tavia has been diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). ILD is an autoimmune disease that attacks the lungs causing scarring. This devastating diagnosis came about after Tay experienced a scare with her ability to breathe. While waiting for a referral to Emory to seek more answers, An’Tavia fell ill and was admitted to the hospital for about 2 week stay. Tay came home with oxygen and is very limited in her ability to do everyday normal life activities. On June 11, 2025, we were notified that An’Tavia was approved to go on the lung transplant list. (THIS IS A WIN) While this is A LOT to take in she remains so hopeful. An’Tavia has not been able to work and will not be able to return to her normal life until after the transplant and recovery. Honestly, we don’t know what that recovery stage looks like. However, we are more than confident that she will recover fully. Tay’s response during this process has been one of FAITH. Her choosing to have UNDIGNIFIED faith in God, knowing that the victory is already hers. While the diagnosis is devastating, we are holding on to hope and doing everything we can to help her fight for her life.
As part of her treatment protocol, she will need to receive physical therapy twice a week, remain on the oxygen tank until after the transplant, take multiple medications, travel back and forth to Emory for appointments and after transplant she will need to stay in Atlanta for 6 months until she is cleared to come home. These treatments are to weaken her immune system to keep her own body from attacking her lungs, strengthen her body for surgery and to help prolong her life for as long as possible. While these treatments are essential, they come with overwhelming costs that insurance does not fully cover. The financial strain is quickly becoming more than she and her family can handle alone.
For those who know and love An’Tavia and Ryan, I am asking if you can help them in any way you can. Any amount will make a difference. This is about creating a space to help her heal, without worrying if the lights will stay on, if the rent will be paid, or she will have to worry about medical expenses becoming unbearable during this fight.
Lung transplants are unpredictable. This buffer will directly go towards her medical treatments, medications, and supportive care. It’s not extra, it’s protection from financial collapse if something shifts. If you can’t donate, please share this page and keep An’Tavia and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Tay means everything me, her family, and we pray she will be with us for as long as possible.
After this, Tay will be stronger, wiser, and more rooted in her God-given purpose than ever before.
Thank you,
Nekia Davis- Walker
