Anna is about to start chemo for a rare and aggressive cancer — pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma. This is after she has endured 7 weeks of radiation therapy. It’s already taken her shoulder, much of her arm function, and now chemo will take her hair too.
But she’s not ready to lose everything that makes her feel like her.
Instead of a generic wig or a quick fix, Anna wants to preserve a part of herself by having a custom wig made from her own hair. This isn’t just about looks. It’s about keeping her identity, her dignity, and one thing she can control in the middle of all this chaos.
The wig is being created by Tress Transformations, a small business that specializes in custom pieces for women in treatment. The total cost is $1,600, and unfortunately, insurance won’t cover it — and neither will Medicaid or other aid programs.
We’ve already received so much support during her radiation — through a previous fundraiser that helped cover gas, food, and travel. That fund is now fully used up.
So we’re asking for help one more time — this time for something personal and healing.
If you were already planning to help with a wig, or if you just want to be part of giving her something beautiful to hold onto during this nightmare, we would be incredibly grateful.
Every dollar helps bring this to life. We’ll update with pictures once the process begins. Thank you for helping Anna keep a piece of herself — and for being in our corner when it matters most.
