My name is Alison Durazo, and I’m reaching out from Vermont to ask for your help.
For years, I’ve struggled with the pain and discomfort caused by a severely deviated septum. Every day, I deal with chronic nasal congestion, facial pain, and constant pressure in my sinuses. Breathing has become increasingly difficult, especially at night, and when working out. I also have trouble smelling fragrances. The struggle to breathe has become so bad that my doctor has prescribed me asthma medication to help manage my symptoms in 2019. I haven’t been to a doctor since 2022 due to insurance issues in Vermont. Unfortunately this surgery I will need will be fully out of pocket.
Living like this has taken a toll on both my physical and emotional well-being. Simple things—like going for a walk, exercising, or even having a conversation—can leave me short of breath and in pain. Frequent sinus infections and headaches have become a part of my daily life.
After consulting with perplexity, I’ve learned that surgery is the best solution to correct my deviated septum and finally restore normal breathing. Unfortunately, the total cost of the procedure—including surgeon’s fees, anesthesia, hospital charges, and follow-up care—is estimated to be between $10,000 and $15,000. This is far more than I can afford on my own, even after exploring all my options. I.e. insurance versus going abroad for surgery.

Why I’m Asking for Help
Despite my best efforts to save and seek financial assistance, I can’t cover this expense alone, I moved into my parents home due to financial hardship and with these new breathing issues I’m not sure how to balance saving for my own apartment, home and surgeries with the current income of content creation I have will not be sufficient. I have not reached enough YouTube subscribers or TikTok following to get paid. I am entirely working off sponsorships I get paid for via cold calling and emailing.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will bring me closer to breathing freely, living without pain, and finally being able to enjoy life again. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing my story would mean the world to me.
