Hey, my name is Aiden. Three years ago I jumped out of the third-story window of the apartment I was living in. I broke sixteen bones and had to get over 100 stitches in various places around my body, but what has had the biggest effect has been the spinal fractures I experienced. If it wasn’t for the world-class surgeons who worked on me, I wouldn’t have ever walked again. I’m happy to say after 8 months in a wheelchair and a lot of physical therapy, I was able to get back on my feet.
I still have screws and bars in my back from the initial surgery. Thus far I have been unable to go in and get them removed, and I am still paying off the first round of surgeries. My mom recently passed away from medical complications that she avoided for too long, so I don’t want to make the same mistake. She always told me to go in and finish the surgery despite the costs associated. I’ve since gone in and been informed I may lose a lot of my range of motion if I don’t finish my surgeries.
