Give Hope: Medical Dog for a Loving Partner

Well, it’s a long story, but I will try to keep it short and to the point! I’m setting up this for my soulmate. We have been together for over 11 amazing years! We have gone through some awful things together. We had 2 amazing babies, 1 boy and 1 girl, even though the doc told her not to. He said she wouldn’t make it, but she did it anyway! And the doc was right. Thank God they were able to save her. But the damage was done! Her heart suffered badly! One week after having our baby, she fell 3 floors down on her back and cracked it in 2 places.

If all that wasn’t bad enough, the building we were living in got condemned. Our landlord gave no one in both buildings any warning. The cops just put everyone on the street with whatever you could carry. So here we are with 2 babies and homeless! The most loving, beautiful woman is still trying to make the best of it for me and our babies. No matter how awful she was feeling, she never showed it. Then she had to do the hardest thing in her life; she had to let someone else take our babies because we were homeless now and she was getting sicker. A few months later, she had 2 heart attacks a month apart.

Finally, a homeless outreach program found out about what was happening to me because the hospital called them. They came and found us sleeping in a train station tunnel. They took us to an apartment and said it was hers now. That was the happiest day we had in over 5 years of being homeless, never feeling safe! Now she could get the rest and help she so badly needed. But it still didn’t get better. Our happiness was short-lived because now she had to take care of her health. She can’t catch a break. We got the news her heart is in failure, stage 4, and even after that and everything else she’s been through, she’s still taking care of and loving everyone else. She has fought for a year, then one day she had a stroke. They tell us she has a condition called TIA, which causes her to have strokes and seizures weekly until her body can’t take anymore! They can’t say how long she has; it’s all up to her body and how much it can take. Every day, watching her go through this, holding her while she is having seizures, or the morning she wakes up and doesn’t know me or where she is!

I really would like to do something special for her. She wants a medical assistant dog so she’s not alone anymore. I can’t tell you how many times I have come home and found her passed out on the floor, praying she’s still alive. I know she doesn’t have a whole lot of time left. It would be so amazing to take some of her stress away. She wants to get hearing aids; she lost most of her eyesight and hearing on her left side after her strokes. I uploaded a couple of pics of her, one before she got sick and 2 after. She will kill me if she ever finds out that I told the whole internet that she wants a wig because of all the hair loss, but we can’t afford it! I’m asking if anyone out there can please help me do something special for my soulmate, give her one last special memory.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
