My name is Gilbert, and I am reaching out to the community to seek some assistance in acquiring a mobility scooter. In January 2023, I had an accident that rendered me an amputee. My whole world changed in the blink of an eye. I spent 5 months in the hospital trying to get better and learning how to be more independent with my wheelchair. Little by little, I started learning how to walk again and how to do things I used to do before my accident. I am back at work, and I feel I am starting to get back to normal. Even though I have a prosthetic leg, it is difficult to walk on it for long distances. I sometimes find myself not being able to go to the grocery store or go out and just enjoy life because of the dreaded walk I have to do. I have medical insurance, but unfortunately, my insurance does not cover mobility scooters. It would be my wish come true to be able to be mobile again and just get back to normal. Anything helps.
