While my husband Gavin was getting ready for work on Monday morning, he started having severe chest pain and collapsed in our room. We went to the ER, and they did some tests and found a large tear in his aorta. He was transferred to Salem for emergency heart surgery. He made it out of surgery and is currently still under anesthesia and on a ventilator while getting medication to help get his blood pressure under control before they wake him up. We have two children, ages 4 and 1. They are his world, and they miss their daddy so much these past couple of nights, as do I, and we can’t wait for him to get home.
He is the main provider in our family, and they say he will be out of work for at least a couple of months. I know it will be a difficult time for our family, and I want this to be one less thing he has to worry about when he wakes up. Thank you to everyone for your support. It has been so nice to see all the people who care for Gavin sending their love.
