Dear Friend,
My name is Dr. Omega Edwards, M.D., and I am an American missionary doctor serving in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. As a trained internal medicine specialist with expertise in infectious diseases, I am deeply committed to patient care. However, my greatest joy comes from mentoring and educating young Tanzanian medical professionals, equipping them to serve their communities with excellence.
In February 2024, we opened the doors of RTMC (Reach Tanzania Medical Clinic), a nonprofit medical center dedicated to high-quality, affordable healthcare for all. Establishing a medical practice takes time—typically around five years—and we are encouraged by the steady growth of our clinic. While we offer services to patients who pay cash or have private health insurance, the Tanzania National Health Insurance Fund is currently not enrolling new clinics, limiting our ability to serve even more individuals. Still, our clinic has built a strong reputation within the community for delivering exceptional care at a low cost. With an on-site laboratory and pharmacy, we ensure that patients receive comprehensive, convenient medical services.
At this time, we are raising funds to subsidize the salaries of our dedicated staff. As a missionary doctor, I do not receive payment from the clinic, but my team’s expertise is invaluable. Your support will allow us to continue our mission of providing affordable, high-quality medical care to every patient who walks through our doors.
Here is an overview of our staff salaries:
– Two receptionists: $200 per month each
– Pharmacist: $300 per month
– Laboratory technician: $300 per month
– Nurse: $300 per month
– Junior doctor (General Practitioner): $500 per month
Your generosity can make a life-changing difference for both our clinic and the patients we serve. I would be honored if you joined us in this mission.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and support.
Kind regards,
Dr. Omega Edwards, M.D.
