Doug’s Recovery: Aid a Music Community Pillar

Doug McGrew Needs Our Help

Doug McGrew is more than just a talented local drummer—he’s a cornerstone of our music community. If you’ve spent any time in the local scene, chances are you’ve felt the rhythm of Doug’s spirit in more ways than one. Beyond his music, Doug is a kind, humble, and generous soul who now finds himself in a time of real need.

Doug recently underwent emergency surgery to remove infected bone and tendon from his elbow—a sudden and serious health crisis. In about six weeks, he’ll need to undergo another surgery to begin repairing the damage. The recovery process will be long and difficult, likely keeping him out of work for anywhere from six months to a year.

But this isn’t just about Doug the musician. It’s about Doug the grandfather. He’s also the full-time caregiver to his 6-year-old grandson, a role he’s taken on with love and quiet strength. As you can imagine, this situation has put an immense financial and emotional strain on both of them.

That’s why I’ve started this fundraiser—to help Doug bridge the gap while he focuses on healing, applying for assistance, and continuing to care for his grandson. I’ve set the goal at $10,000. I know that’s a big ask. But even if we just begin to scratch the surface, every dollar raised will help relieve some of the burden on his shoulders.

Doug has given so much of himself to our community over the years. Let’s give a little back. Let’s help him take the time he needs to recover fully so he can return to the stage—and to us—when he’s ready.

Thank you for reading, for sharing, and most of all, for caring.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
