Our father has always been our rock — the one who showed up early, stayed late, and gave everything he had to the people he loved. He’s the kind of dad who worked with his hands, fixed what was broken, and never let on when he was hurting. But now, he needs our help in ways we never imagined.
Over the past year, our dad was diagnosed with dementia, and it’s been heartbreaking watching the strong, vibrant man we know begin to slip away. He has good days and bad days, but the disease has taken a toll on his memory, his independence, and even his ability to perform basic daily tasks. It’s something no family can truly prepare for — emotionally or financially.
We are doing everything we can to give him the best care possible — helping with meals, doctor appointments, daily routines, and keeping him safe at home. But the costs are adding up quickly. Between medical expenses, home care, and the modifications needed to make his living space safer and more comfortable, we’ve reached a point where we can’t do it alone.
