The Wolf Family had some concerns with their daughter Zoe’s recent progress due to multiple instances of tripping over her feet. The positive news is her flexibility is amazing. The unfortunate news is she will need to have another procedure called Tibial Derotation Osteotomy. A Tibial Derotational Osteotomy is a surgical procedure that corrects rotational deformities of the tibia (shinbone). This is often done to treat tibial torsion, a condition where the lower leg is twisted, leading to the feet pointing inward or outward. The surgery involves cutting the tibia, rotating it to the correct alignment, and then stabilizing the bone with plates and screws. Zoe’s surgery is scheduled for July 10th with her specialist in West Palm Beach. She will be in below-the-knee non-weight-bearing casts for 4 weeks, then will follow with physical therapy. They, of course, are heartbroken for their daughter to have to go through another surgery but are so grateful for top-of-the-line care.
Any funds that can be donated from the community to assist with the costs of travel and care during the time of care would be so greatly appreciated.
