I’m Hayes, a 22-year-old transgender man living in Salt Lake City. I have been on testosterone for a little under 2 years now but have publicly started transitioning since 2022. I personally have always hated the lumps on my chest, and now I have the opportunity to go and get my top surgery consult done on July 29th, hopefully getting my top surgery actually planned and scheduled by the end of the year.
I personally am trying to keep up with lots of different payments at the moment and would like to ask for some help; it’s just really hard for me to do. I am going to be using my out-of-pocket maximum (THANK GOD), so I’ll only have to pay $4000 total for my top surgery to be covered under my insurance, but with how many doctors I see for my HRT alone, that number is basically cut in half.
After they schedule my top surgery, they are also going to be giving me a hysterectomy, but that will be fully covered under my insurance. Mainly, my biggest focus is getting that top surgery done ASAP, and then everything will fall into place after that.
That was a lot of filler for the main topic of conversation: help with my surgery. I struggle immensely with asking for help, but I feel like this one is a good one to do so with. Instead of birthday or Christmas presents for me this year, my biggest ask is if you could help chip in to help me out? It would help tons with not only my physical health but mentally as well.
