My name is Sue VanWieren. On Friday, May 30, our grandson was in a head-on crash. Dillon Schaap was almost home in his car, when he was hit by a pickup truck. By the grace of God, a seat belt and air bags, he is alive. But, his right leg is basically shattered from the knee down. He was transported to a hospital in Newberry, then airlifted to a Marquette hospital (the upper peninsula). He stayed in the hospital until his first surgery on Tuesday, and will be returning next week for another surgery. It is unknown, at this time, if he will require additional surgery after the second one. Dillon will not be able to go back to his job for a long time, and his medical bills will be huge.
We are asking for donations to help him with his medical debt, and for living expenses until he can return to work.
If you are willing and able to help, even a small amount, he and his family will be greatly appreciative.
Thank you for your consideration.
